Hyderabad, Aug. 6 -- South Central Railway (SCR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay to develop a software framework for analysing railway track occupancy, junction and yard congestion to improve operational efficiency and strengthen safety monitoring.

The pilot project will develop an advanced analytical tool to process large volumes of signalling data, reconstruct train movements, identify operational bottlenecks, analyse detention patterns and generate visual representations of train operations such as crossings, shunting and through movements.
