Manchester, June 13 -- Scotland Women registered a comprehensive 40-run win over Ireland Women in a Group B clash of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Emirates Old Trafford here on Saturday, riding on a strong batting display followed by a disciplined bowling effort.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Ireland Women restricted Scotland Women to 161 for 5 in 20 overs, but failed to chase down the target as they were bowled out for 121 in 19.1 overs.

Chasing 162, Ireland lost wickets at regular intervals despite a fighting 39 off 36 balls from Amy Hunter. Orla Prendergast (33 off 23) and Arlene Kelly (15 off 12) offered resistance, but the innings never gained sustained momentum.
