Chennai, March 7 -- Afer an extended Northeast monsoon that spilled over to January and a rare phenomena of two Low Pressure Areas forming over the Bay once after another in the month of Ferbuary, Tamil Nadu has begun experiencing intense summer heat, with temperatures crossing the 100-deg Fahrenheit mark in three districts, signalling an early rise in summer conditions across the State even as dry weather continued to prevail across the state.

Vellore recorded the highest temperature at around 105 deg F, while Karur (Paramathi) and Erode registered 100.4 deg F each and the Met office has forecast spike in temperature by a couple of degrees in the coming days.
