Nagpur, May 30 -- The relentless spell of extreme heat during the ongoing 'Nautapa' period, traditionally regarded as the nine hottest days of summer, continued to take a toll in Nagpur district, with five more suspected heat-related deaths reported on Thursday, officials said on Friday.
The latest fatalities came a day after 10 suspected heatstroke deaths were recorded, marking the second consecutive day of casualties linked to soaring temperatures in the region.
According to reports, the deceased included two residents from Nagpur city and three persons from rural parts of the district.
Although overcast skies on Thursday morning briefly raised hopes of relief from the scorching weather, high humidity levels added to public discomfort....
