Visakhapatnam, June 1 -- A new chapter in the history of Indian Railways began on Monday with the commencement of operations of the newly formed South Coast Railway (SCoR), headquartered in Visakhapatnam.
Marking the occasion, South Coast Railway General Manager Sandeep Mathur welcomed officers and staff joining the new zone and described the formation of SCoR as a significant step towards enhancing administrative efficiency, operational effectiveness and passenger and freight services.
Addressing senior railway officials, Mathur said the new zone would play a crucial role in accelerating railway infrastructure development and supporting economic growth across the region.
