Hyderabad, July 27 -- Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C V Anand on Monday stressed the importance of forensic science in criminal investigations, stating that even if offenders are apprehended, cases could weaken in court without strong scientific evidence and quality forensic reports.
Handing over appointment letters to 57 newly recruited Scientific Officers at the Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory (TGFSL) in Nampally, the DGP directed the new recruits to strengthen investigations in line with the country's new criminal laws.
He said forensic reports form the backbone of charge sheets and play a crucial role in securing convictions.
