Parmod KumarNew Delhi, June 18 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to grant any interim relief on a petition filed by the NGO Friends of People for Active Democracy, challenging the implementation of the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) three-language policy for Class 9 students from the 2026-27 academic session.

Declining to stay the implementation of the policy and observing that no interim protection was warranted at this stage, a Bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice V Mohana tagged the NGO's petition with the petitions already pending before the Court challenging the introduction of the three-language policy from the 2026-27 academic session and listed the matter for hearing on July 14.
