New Delhi, April 17 -- The Supreme Court on Friday refused to extend transit anticipatory bail for Congress leader Pawan Khera in a case filed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma over multiple passport claim.

The case concerns an FIR registered by Assam Police on the complaint of Assam CM Sarma's wife over Khera's allegations that she held multiple passports of different countries.

The court also turned down Khera's plea to extend the transit bail till next Tuesday so that he can approach the Assam court on Monday.

The development comes two days after the apex court stayed his anticipatory bail that was granted by the Telangana High Court.
