Chandigarh, May 26 -- The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of a controversial audio clip allegedly linked to Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and summoned Sri Muktsar Sahib Senior Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Rana to appear before it on May 29.
According to the notice issued by the Commission, the action was initiated after a purported audio clip circulating on social media allegedly contained objectionable remarks referring to members of the Scheduled Castes community. The Commission stated that the matter was brought to its attention through a communication from Punjab Social Security and Social Justice Minister Baljit Kaur.
