Parmod KumarNew Delhi, Aug. 10 -- The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned for two weeks the hearing on a petition by Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) challenging Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's decision recognising the merger of its six rebel MPs with the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Adjourning the matter, a Bench of Justice Pamidighantam Sri Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe noted that no counsel had appeared for Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and the Joint Secretary of the Lok Sabha Secretariat, who had issued the July 18 circular recognising the merger.
