New Delhi, Sept. 7 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Monday ordered the demolition of a building adjoining the five-storey "Hostel Daze" premises in southwest Delhi's Satya Niketan, which collapsed on Sunday, killing seven people. The neighbouring structure was declared unsafe by civic officials, prompting the demolition order a day after the fatal collapse.
The civic body has also evacuated the occupants of the neighbouring property as a precautionary measure. The residents are being shifted to a nearby community hall, while demolition of the building is scheduled to be carried out on Monday, officials said.
