Sohra, Sept. 4 -- Nearly 12,000 runners participated in the Sohra International Half Marathon 2026 here in Meghalaya on Friday morningFor the runners it was a flurry of emotions at the start and finish lines, while thousands of people came out to cheer the runners, despite the foggy weather.
In the elite 21 km race, Satish Kumar Verma from Uttar Pradesh won the men's title with a timing of 1:03:04. Kenya's Kisilu John Muinde finished second in 1:03:14, while Emphius Nongrum took third in 1:03:38.
Tejaswini Narendra Lambkane clinched the elite women's 21-km race in 1:15:20. Neeta Patel was second with 1:19:15 and Balasiewdor Pathaw finished third in 1:20:38.
