Chennai, March 13 -- Ousted AIADMK leader and late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's close confidante VK Sasikala on Friday announced the christening of her newly launched party as 'All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam' (AIPTMMK) and said that it would contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly election in an alliance.
The party bears the name of AIADMK founder MG Ramachandran (MGR), film icon and former Chief Minister, who was hailed as 'Puratchi Thalaivar', revolutionary leader, to his fans and supporters and whose name has been etched in people's minds forever.
But, the acronym of the party happens to be a tongue-twister in Tamil.
