Ranchi, Aug. 29 -- The Adivasi Chhatra Sangh on Saturday announced a boycott of the census and delimitation exercise if the Sarna religious code is not included as an option in the census.
The organisation's central convener Sushil Kumar Minz said at a press conference that the Sarna religious code and delimitation were directly linked and alleged that the absence of a separate code would affect the recorded tribal population.
He demanded a separate Sarna religious code for tribal communities and said the organisation had already raised the demand with the union Home Ministry.
The organisation announced a series of programmes to oppose the delimitation process and press for the religious code.
