Sangli, Aug. 1 -- District additional session judge Mrs J A Mohanty today sentenced to death an accused who had brutally murdered a four-and-half-year old girl after sexually assaulting her and hidden the body in an iron box, in Karajagi in Jat tehsil of this district in February 2025.
In a press release, public prosecutor Pramod Bhokare said that accused Pandurang Somanna Kalli (25), resident of Karjagi, while playing with the four-and-half-year old girl and her eight-year-old cousin sister, around 10 am, took the two of them to eat almonds under a tree in front of the accused Pandurang's house.
