Lucknow, Aug. 5 -- The Judicial Commission probing the November 2024 violence that occurred at the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, has termed the incident as a pre-planned conspiracy.
The commission has indicted Sambhal MP Zia-ur-Rehman Barq, MLA Iqbal Mahmood's son Suhail Iqbal, and officials of the Jama Masjid Intezamia Committee with playing a role in inciting the mob, spreading misinformation, and creating the conditions for violence.
The report of the three-member judicial inquiry commission headed by Justice (Retd.) Devendra Kumar Arora was tabled in the state assembly on Wednesday.
