Hyderabad, April 6 -- Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar has urged parents to remain vigilant about their children's activities during the summer holidays, cautioning that excessive use of smartphones and social media could adversely impact their future.

In a post on social media platform X, Sajjanar said childhood, once filled with outdoor games and visits to grandparents' villages, is now increasingly confined to mobile screens. He attributed this shift partly to parents being preoccupied with their own work, leaving children with limited engagement and leading to loneliness.
