New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda inaugurated a new facility at Safdarjung Hospital on Thursday, which will provide an assessment of bladder functions alongside brain mapping studies of the patients.

The diagnostic tool detects changes in cerebral blood oxygenation during bladder filling and emptying and may assist clinicians in determining whether a bladder disorder is of bladder-related, neurological or combined origin, health officials said in a statement.

Set up under the Department of Urology, the Centre for Advanced Bladder Diagnostics will provide assessment of bladder functions alongside brain mapping studies of the patients. According to the government officials, such an approach will be attempted for the ...
