Glasgow, Aug. 1 -- India's Sachin Siwach produced a stirring comeback to defeat Namibia's Tryagain Morning Ndevelo by a 3-2 split decision in the men's 60kg final, clinching the Commonwealth Games gold medal here on Saturday.

Sachin found himself under pressure after the opening two rounds, trailing on the scorecards of four of the five judges. His task became even tougher after he was docked a point in the second round for repeatedly failing to keep his head up despite a warning.

The Indian southpaw, however, responded in emphatic fashion in the decisive third round. Landing a powerful punch that sent Ndevelo to the canvas, Sachin forced the Namibian to take a standing count of eight in the closing moments of the bout.
