New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- As political parties gear up for the Punjab assembly polls next year, the BJP, in a strategic move, appointed former Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva as co-in-charge in the state, along with Dr Alka Gurjar.
Sachdeva, who spearheaded the party's campaign at the grass-roots level in the Delhi Assembly polls and was instrumental in the BJP's win, is likely to prove an asset as he will assist Satish Poonia, who has been made in-charge for Punjab.
In the Delhi Assembly polls, where the main fight was against AAP (the party currently in power in Punjab), Sachdeva cornered Arvind Kejriwal's party and its regime over various allegations, including corruption and public issues.
