New York, Sept. 11 -- Elena Rybakina rallied from a set down to defeat Coco Gauff 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 and reach her maiden US Open women's singles final, setting up a title clash with defending champion Aryna Sabalenka.

The second-seeded Kazakh, who will become the world number one when the rankings are updated on Monday, recovered after Gauff made a dominant start and took the opening set 6-3.

Rybakina settled into the match in the second set, improving her serve and exploiting Gauff's growing forehand errors to level the contest at one set apiece.
