Kolkata, June 1 -- After completing the much-awaited girder launching work at Chingrighata last week, the Kolkata Metro Railway has kicked off another crucial task of constructing a foot over bridge near Beleghata metro station.
Last week, the city metro achieved a major milestone after it completed the girder launching works at Chingrighata which had been stalled for more than a year.
The implementing agency of the New Garia-Airport metro corridor, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, which is carrying out the work for the city metro, carried out the girder launching work and connecting the crucial stretch of 62 metres by taking a block of 120 hours and completing it within 115 hours.
