Bengaluru, Aug. 28 -- India must shift from traditional rural development programmes towards commercially viable entrepreneurship and large-scale job creation if it is to achieve its ambition of becoming a USD 30-trillion-plus economy by 2047, former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said on Friday.
Speaking at the launch of Next Bharat Ventures' Impact Report 2026 here, Kant said India's challenge was not merely economic growth but ensuring that growth created productive employment, particularly in rural areas.
"The challenge for India is to grow with jobs and to create jobs," he said.
