Nagpur, July 21 -- : Former president of the Nagpur District Rural Congress Committee and founder-president of Jeevan Vikas Education Society, Siraspeth, Baburao Lahanuji Zhade, passed away due to age-related ailments on Tuesday morning. He was 88.
A noted educationist popularly known as 'Shikshan Maharshi', Zhade had pledged to donate his body for medical education before his death.
In keeping with his wish, his body was donated to the Government Medical College (GMC), Nagpur, after hundreds of relatives, well-wishers, teachers, students and admirers paid their last respects at his residence in Nandanvan and later at the premises of Navpratibha High School and Junior College in Siraspeth.
