Kolkata, May 22 -- After a gap of nearly 14 years, a serving United States Secretary of State is set to visit Kolkata, with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio scheduled to begin his India tour from the eastern metropolis on Saturday.

According to official sources, Rubio will be accompanied by his wife during the visit, which is being viewed as diplomatically significant amid the changed political equations in West Bengal and the evolving strategic dynamics in the Bay of Bengal region.
