Bangana (HP), March 14 -- The Himachal Pradesh government will spend Rs. 2,000 crore on modern technology for water purification schemes in the 2026-27 fiscal, thereby ensuring the health and well-being of the state's residents and protecting them from diseases, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Friday.

The chief minister, who laid the foundation stone of a Rs 14.92 crore Turkal Panga drinking water scheme in Una district, said the project will benefit over 10,000 residents of Budhan, Chamyari, Dhungle, Lathiani and Tanoh Gram Panchayats of the area. He also laid the foundation stones of Samarthya Gyandeep Library and the Samarthya Vyayamshala.
