Chennai, June 1 -- None filed their papers, as the filing of nominations for the June 18 bye-election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the Tamil Nadu Assembly, commenced on Monday with the issuance of the notification.
The ruling TVK headed by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is all set to get its maiden berth to the Upper House of Parliament, making it doubly sweet as it comes in the backdrop of historic occasion of forming the government in its first attempt after a stunning show in the Assembly polls.
Since only the candidates nominated by recognised political parties could file papers, none has filed on the opening day.
