Chandigarh, Aug. 18 -- Jalandhar police are searching for a group of men who allegedly chased down a businessman, rammed his car, and escaped with more than Rs 50 lakh in cash, with no arrests made so far.
Iron trader Lalit Mittal, 60, was returning home from his Tanda Road office on Monday evening when he noticed a white car following him, according to his account to the police. The incident took place at around 7.50 p.m. on the 120-foot road near Surya Enclave Extension.
Mittal said he became suspicious when the car moved ahead of him and appeared to block his way. He tried reversing his vehicle, but the suspects allegedly rammed their car into his.
