Lucknow, April 16 -- In a major action against organized crime on Thursday, police teams from Mohanlalganj and Nagram, along with the revenue department, seized assets worth approximately Rs 5.78 crore belonging to accused booked under the Gangster Act.

The joint operation targeted a gang led by Pramod Kumar Upadhyay, who allegedly operated a fraudulent real estate scheme in the Mohanlalganj area under the name "Kanha Upvan."According to officials, the gang lured unsuspecting buyers with promises of cheap and attractive plots. Victims were duped through forged documents and fake land registrations, after which their money was siphoned off.
