Kolkota, April 15 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday unveiled the "Matrishakti Bhorosha Card" through which the party intends to hand a dole of Rs 3000 to every woman in the state, in a scheme designed to provide direct financial assistance to them.
Smriti Irani, the national president of BJP's Mahila Morcha flanked by Suvendu Adhikari who is contesting from Bhowanipore and Nandigram Assembly constituencies and Roopa Ganguly, the BJP candidate from Sonarpur South, handed the card out to at least five women from various walks of life at a press conference held in the city.
The scheme forms a key component of the party's "Sankalpa Patra", its electoral vision document for the state.
