Aizawl, Aug. 31 -- A seven-year arrangement at Government Kolasib College allowed a regular Associate Professor to continue drawing his salary despite not performing his official duties, while portions of his pay were routinely handed over to people hired to work in hisplace, according to a Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) audit report.
The arrangement resulted in the payment of Rs. 2.02 crore in gross salary to the Associate Professor between March 2017 and July 2024, even though his absence from duty had notbeen authorised by the competent authority, the CAG report tabled in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly on August 27 said.
