Ranchi, May 28 -- Ranchi Police arrested Amrit Horo alias "Mecho", the alleged chief of banned extremist outfit People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), from the Lapung area of the district.

Senior police officials confirmed the arrest and said Horo was carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh announced by the Jharkhand government.

Police said Horo had emerged as the top leader of the outfit after the arrest of PLFI supremo Dinesh Gope by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the killing of Martin Kerketta in an encounter in Gumla.
