Hyderabad, Sept. 11 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday informed the council that the state government has introduced a free accident insurance scheme offering coverage of up to Rs 1 crore to government employees, teachers, pensioners and contract and outsourcing personnel without imposing any financial burden on the employees or the state exchequer.

Speaking in the Legislative Council, Bhatti Vikramarka said the initiative, implemented through Government Order (GO) No. 77, was aimed at providing financial security to families of employees who die or suffer permanent disability in accidents.
