Guwahati, March 30 -- Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag won the toss and elected to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings, citing moisture in the pitch following recent rain and the likelihood of early assistance for bowlers.
"There's been a lot of rain, so even on a red soil wicket there will be some moisture. We want to try and extract that in the first few overs and then assess from there," Parag said.
Reflecting on his leadership role, he added that captaining the franchise after eight years with the team felt "overwhelming," with strong backing from teammates.
He emphasised that the side has focused on building a versatile squad capable of adapting to varying conditions, with the ultimate goal of winning the championship.
