Ballari, April 6 -- The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized 40.495 kg of ganja valued at Rs 20.24 lakh from an express train at Ballari Railway Station in Karnataka on Monday.
According to RPF officials, the seizure was made during a routine checking of Train No. 18047 (Shalimar-Visakhapatnam Express). During the inspection of a general coach, RPF personnel found three unclaimed polythene bags.
As no passenger came forward to claim ownership, the bags were offloaded at Ballari station. Upon verification, the contents were identified as ganja.
The total weight of the contraband was found to be 40.495 kg, with an estimated market value of Rs 20,24,750. The seizure was carried out by the RPF Inspector, Ballari, following due legal procedu...
