Bucharest, June 14 -- Romania scrambled two Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets overnight after a group of drones was detected near its border with Ukraine, prompting authorities to issue an air raid warning for residents in northern Tulcea County, the Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

The development came as Romanian President Nicusor Dan nominated National Liberal Party leader Adrian Vestea as prime minister-designate after the previous nominee, Eugen Tomac, withdrew from consideration.
