Pune, April 21 -- Rohit Pawar, an MLA from Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), has accused the ruling party of attempting to reduce constituencies favorable to the opposition.
Speaking at a press conference today, Pawar raised concerns over changes in ward classifications. He pointed out that Ward 24 in Pimpri, which was earlier reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), has been converted into a general category ward.
He alleged that such changes are being made for political convenience, comparing it to preparing a pitch that suits one's own strategy. Pawar also claimed that a candidate from this ward went on to become mayor unopposed.
