Nagpur, Aug. 2 -- : A gang allegedly involved in duping unsuspecting men through fraudulent marriages has resurfaced in Nagpur, with police arresting its alleged mastermind, Rani alias Komal Pandey and exposing the marriage fraud racket, officials said on Sunday.
In the latest case, a 35-year-old man from Gujarat, who was searching for a bride, was allegedly lured to Nagpur and cheated of Rs 70,000 in cash along with gold and silver ornaments by a "robber bride" and her accomplices.
The victim, Akash Jitendra Parekh (35), a resident of Bhavnagar in Gujarat, had been looking for a suitable bride for some time. Unable to find a match, he sought the help of a friend in Nagpur.
