New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- Senior Indian Information Service (IIS) officer Rina Sonowal has been promoted to the Selection Grade (Director General level) of the Indian Information Service and appointed as the Director General of Doordarshan (Programming), New Delhi, succeeding K. Satish Nambudiripad.
She will be taking charge on August 11.
The appointment follows an order issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on July 29, under which the promotion was approved based on the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) and her empanelment to the Selection Grade by the Department of Personnel and Training through its Office Memorandum dated January 29.
