Chennai, March 14 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin on Saturday evening urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to issue necessary instructions for revising the procurement target for TN from 16.00 LMTs to 32.00 LMTs of rice for KMS 2025-2026 (Kharif Crop) on a priority basis, in order to facilitate continued procurement and ensure timely payments to farmers.
In a Demi-Official letter to Mr Modi, copies of which were released to the media here, he sought his urgent intervention on this important matter and said Tamil Nadu is a major paddy growing state and has 20.50 lakh hectare under paddy crop during KMS 2025-2026 (Kharif Crop) Season.
