Panchkula, Sept. 8 -- A group representing retired employees has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to revise the official instructions for the Eighth Central Pay Commission to clarify confusion about pension updates for employees who retired before January 1, 2026.
Sadhu Singh, general secretary of the Retired Employees Welfare Association, said the current instructions do not clearly state whether the commission will recommend changes to pensions and family pensions for those who retired before January 2026.
In a letter to the PM dated September 7, Singh said the unclear wording has caused "serious confusion and worry" among about 69 lakh pensioners and family pensioners.
