Muzaffarpur, April 27 -- A major interstate cyber fraud racket linked to so-called "digital arrest" scams was busted in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on Monday, where investigators identified a retired government official as the alleged mastermind.

Cyber police sources said that the mastermind of the gang has been identified as Priyaranjan Sharma, a former statistical officer of the Bihar government. The accused was arrested along with his son Anant Amish from their residence in Patna's Rajeev Nagar area.

Police sources said Sharma's wife was also involved in the racket.

During the raid, police recovered Rs 23,900 in cash, a laptop, three mobile phones, 19 bank passbooks and cheque books, four seals, a pen drive, and several suspicious documents. ...
