Mumbai, Sept. 1 -- The Bombay Milk Producers' Association (BMPA) officially announced here on Tuesday that it has decided to raise the wholesale price of milk from dairies as well as local farms in Mumbai by Rs 9 per litre, from September 1, due to rising cattle feed and cattle maintenance cost.
The hike will increase milk prices in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) from Rs 93 to Rs 102 per litre, even as the festival season approaches.
However, the retail milk price for direct farm-supplied milk is likely to increase by upto Rs 110 per litre.
