Washington, Sept. 15 -- Senate Republicans are sceptical of, and in some cases openly dismissive of President Donald Trump's proposal to give adult US citizens $5,000 payments if the GOP retain control of Congress.
While Trump's proposal is not necessarily headed for defeat, lawmakers from his party are not particularly rushing to forward to lend their support to his proposal either.
"I am withholding judgment on the bill until I see their list of pay-fors," Republican Sen John Kennedy of Louisiana said.
