Shimla, March 3 -- Continuing its sustained offensive against narcotics trafficking, the Shimla District Police have detained another habitual offender under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 (PIT NDPS Act).
Acting on a detention order issued by the Himachal Pradesh Government, a police team from Nankhari Police Station on March 2, 2026 detained Prem Raj alias ID Mehta alias Santosh Mehta, a resident of Village Jagot in Tehsil Nankhari, and lodged him in the District Correctional Home, Kaithu, for a period of three months.
Police officials stated that the accused has a long history of involvement under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
