Mathura, Sept. 3 -- Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajananda Devtirtha Maharaj has expressed a strong reaction to the incidents of damage and destruction of ancient Hindu temples in Pakistan.
He stated unequivocally that whether a temple is 100 years old or recently built, it is the abode of God, and disrespecting any religious site anywhere in the world is highly condemnable.
Speaking to the reporters on Thursday, Shankaracharya said that "the Indian government is taking cognisance of the matter."
