Mumbai, Aug. 25 -- The Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd has purchased tender documents for Odisha's 200-million-tonne Karlapat bauxite block auction, according to market sources.
Significantly, it was reported earlier on July 17 that Reliance and the Adani Group were among the companies that showed interest in the 3,100-hectare Karlapat bauxite block in Odisha, which is estimated to contain more than 200 million tonnes of bauxite.
Meanwhile, the Anil Agarwal-owned Vedanta Aluminium's subsidiary company BALCO has emerged as the preferred bidder for the Karlapat bauxite block, after it offered a record auction premium of 175 per cent.
