Mumbai, July 4 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a red alert for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall for the next few hours.
In view of student safety, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had announced a half-day holiday for all schools and colleges in Mumbai for the afternoon session here on Saturday. Citizens have been urged to step out only if necessary.
