Mumbai, June 18 -- In a significant political development, several Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs remained absent from the party's parliamentary meeting in a clear indication of a possible split in the party.
The meeting was attended by senior leaders Sanjay Raut, Arvind Sawant, Anil Jadhav and Rajabhau Waze, while six MPs - Sanjay Deshmukh, Sanjay Jadhav, Bhausaheb Wakchaure, Omraje Nimbalkar, Sanjay Dina Patil and Nagesh Patil Ashtikar - were absent.
They are reported to have met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to seek recognition as a separate bloc in Parliament.
