Bengaluru, Aug. 1 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday made a strong case for an agriculture-led economic revival of the union Territory, arguing that lasting prosperity would come not from tourism, subsidies or headline-grabbing projects, but from enterprise-driven value addition in farming and allied sectors.
Addressing students and industry leaders during an interaction at IIMBues IIIMBAA Leadership Conclave 2026, Abdullah said Jammu and Kashmir's biggest economic opportunity lies in agriculture, horticulture and dairy, sectors that remain overlooked despite contributing the largest share to the union Territory's economy.
